Teresa DiMauro (HGC Director)

Started coaching at the age of 16 at the Westminster YMCA
Joined Harford in Summer of 1979 as a college job & became co-director 1984-2004
Became owner and director in 2004 with the passing of husband Frank Yapps, founder
Was a scholarship gymnast at Towson & 3 time National Qualifier
 Awarded twice the Towson Female Athlete of the Year & 2-time most valuable gymnast
6th place on vault at Div II Nationals and graduated as Towson’s all-time leading
Received Towson’s Christopher Souris Award for Outstanding Jr Year Scholar Athlete
Coach of 7 time National Champion (L10 & USAIGC) at Harford
Loves utilizing gymnastics to help youngsters become confident, hard-working, goal setting individuals

 

TC Walstrum (HGC Associate Director & Team Manager)

Started Coaching in 1980
Joined Harford’s staff in fall of 1983
Pioneer of Harford’s Junior Bee program
Coached for Harford County Parks and Rec, PAL Gymnastics, and Balt Co Parks and Recreation
Competed 4 yrs for her HS team and 2 years at Essex Community College
Qualified for Junior College National Championships
Firm, Fair and Encouraging is her coaching style which has proven to get great results
Loves helping her athletes achieve their best  and helping them grow as individuals

 

Danielle Zacherl (HGC Assistant Director and Level 3-5 Manager)

Started coaching Gymnastics in 2009
Joined Harford’s staff in 2013 as a full time employee
Previously taught at Leap of Faith Gymnastics and Atlanta School of Gymnastics
Started in gymnastics at the age of two and competed thru High School at Pittsburgh Northstars
Strives to find a balance between critique and encouragement to give her athletes an amazing positive experience as they improve their gymnastics skills
Leads with kindness, concern and continued education to the staff
She loves encouraging young athletes to reach their goals and help them grow their love for this awesome sport

 

Brianna Pickle (HGC Assistant Director & Level 2 and Pre-team Manager)

Started gymnastics at 9 months old
Started teaching gymnastics at age 14 as she grew up at Harford Gymnastics       
Joined Harford full time in 2013 and joined the team coaching staff  in 2015
Also coached at Skyline Gymnastics during her college years
Earned a Division I scholarship for Lacrosse to University of Massachusetts
Held Harford’s vault record for 18 years (Level 6 equivalency)
Enjoys seeing the gymnasts grow and learn new things and work to fine tune and perfect their technique
Loves coaching with a caring heart which she learned from her parents

 

 

 

Kelly Blackwell                                                                                      

Started Coaching 2013 & joined Harford’s staff in 2015
Competed as a Level 10
Multiple time National Qualifier & placed 7th on Beam at L9 Western National Championships
Highest AA score was a 39!
Loves passing on her knowledge of the sport that has brought her so much joy as a child onto her gymnasts as she strives to be the best coach she can be

 

Brendon Crevecoeur

Started coaching in 2008 & started at Harford in 2013
Was a Level 10 National Qualifier gymnast at Ultimate Gymnastics
Multiple State and Regional Champion
Enjoys tumbling around the gym from time to time
Loves seeing kids get excited about a learning a new skill and working with gymnasts thru their fears

 

Brian Dawson

Started Teaching Gymnastics in 1997 at Gymnastrum Gymnastics in Pa. & joined Harford in 2002
Placed 4th at Junior Olympic Nationals
NCAA National Vaulting Finalist & All-ECAC East Squad honors
Coaching Gymnastics for him takes an edge off his legal career as an attorney
Loves the thrill of achievement of his athletes and the thankfulness of the athletes

 

Jessica Friemann

Started coaching in 2004 & joined Harford’s staff from Rebounders in 2005
Competed thru high school as a Level 9 gymnast
Placed 2nd AA at L8 States
Pioneered her high school gymnastics team as an independent, then they formed an official team
Proud moment when she was recognized by a former gymnast as the “teacher who impacted the child the most through her life”

 

Katie Howser

Joined Harford’s staff in 2014
Received her gymnastics training at Harford
Participated 12 years in competitive cheerleading
Always looking to grow and learn all she can in the gymnastics world
Fell in love with Gymnastics and enjoys inspiring youngsters to be the best they can be
Loves working with children and being a part of their progress

 

Joe Vrzalik

Joined Harford’s staff in 2000 and began teaching gymnastics in 1966
Has a wealth of knowledge and expertise to share 
Grew up in the Sokol Gymnastics organization and also coached at Rebounders and the YMCA
Competed at the club level, as well as in high school and performed with the U of MD Gymkana troupe on the world stage
Loves sharing his passion for gymnastics with his students   

 

 

 

 

 

Leslie Southerlan

Joined Harford’s Staff in 2017, previously coached at Mid-Coast, Lynchburg & Jackson Hole
Competed at Level 10 & did one season as an elite.
Won numerous State and Regional titles & Also cheered at the National and World level
Loves the perfection gymnastics requires & loves seeing gymnasts work hard to achieve something

 

Tina Kratzmeier

Started coaching in 1988 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan  & joined Harford in 1993                          
Absolute Champion of Uzbekistan in 6 events and all-around for 3 years for Rhythmic Gymnastics as member of the USSR Rhythmic National Team
Certified USAG artistic gymnastics judge
Enjoys attending master classes with world famous dancers,judging seminars, and gymnastics congress.
Loves being a part of the gymnasts’ physical, mental and disciplinary growth. Also loves sharing the accomplishments with the gymnasts and her amazing (as she calls them) co-workers.

 

Ron Lievendag

Started coaching in 1984 at the Naval Academy as an assistant coach to Olympian Peter Kormann
Promoted to head coach at the Naval Academy
Earned the honor of EIGL Coach of the year while coaching at the Naval Academy
Joined Harford’s staff in fall of 2002 when he moved back to the area & his daughter joined our team~ his daughter went on to earn a full ride Division I scholarship
Competed at Cortland and was a 5 time All-American Award Winner
Loves the sport of gymnastics with its challenges and has great fun watching kids learn and grow as athletes and as people

 

Don Miller

Began teaching gymnastics in 2011 at Harford Gymnastics
Quickly advanced through the levels from class teacher, to pre-team coach, to team coach in 2013
Earned a degree in Occupational Therapy and works to improve patients’ living skills
Has previously worked at both Johns Hopkins and Bel Air Rehab, and is currently an occupational therapist at Springfield State Hospital while he coaches part time
Loves using his keen awareness of movement to break down skills and do lots of drills

 

Cora Parrish

Joined Harford’s staff in 2016 after coaching with her Mom at Kozeevs in South Carolina
Competed thru Level 7
Almost complete with her degree in Mortuary Science
Loves seeing personal growth and keeping kids motivated as she pushes their boundaries

 

Becky Schaller

Started teaching gymnastics in 1995
Competed at the Elite Level & qualified to Elite National Competitions
Won 7 National Titles at Level 10 and US Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs (USAIGC)
Earned a full ride gymnastics scholarship after being recruited by 5 colleges
Joined Harford’s staff full time in 2000 after graduating with a B.S. Degree in Kinesiology
Spent 5 years as Towson University’s Assistant Gymnastics Coach where she earned the honor of being  the EAGL conference Assistant Coach of the Year, then returned to Harford part time in 2016
Loves helping young athletes set goals, develop a strong work ethic and achieve success

 

 

Jeff Wilson

Joined Harford in 2012 & was previously head coach at Rebounders boys for 5 years                                       
Two time Carroll County AA gymnastics champion
District AA Champion in high school
Loves coaching the sport that changed his life. Loves sharing his passion of gymnastics with the gymnasts and tries to put his whole self  into caring about the gymnasts and coaching the gymnasts to be the best they can be

 

Gracie Ford

Was involved in gymnastics since age 2
Joined HGC staff in 2015 after she retired as a competitor on Harford’s team
As a competitor, she was a L4 State All-around champ and a L8 Regional Qualifier
Certified USAG judge
Loves connecting with her gymnasts and making a difference in their gymnastics development

 

Deanna Ganzermiller (thanks for filling in Deanna)

Certified NAWGJ Gymnastics Judge
Was a former gymnast and had all three of her girls on Harford's team
Loves bringing that fine tuning knowledge to our gymnasts
